Since I have no problem using Safari to access AOL.com, it seems to me that it is only a Chrome issue affecting ONLY AOL.com’s website. And then I am getting another error message asking if I wish to continue or kill the loading page. Meanwhile, I am prevented from accessing any other sites via a Tab while the AOL.com site (via Chrome’s browser) is spinning. I have noticed only for the past two days and ONLY using AOL.com, I am getting the plugin not working or shockwave not working. Understandably, the site owners would prefer that people did not use ad-blockers or script-blockers, but the pragmatic truth of the situation is that they have only themselves to blame, for running so many unnecessary processes in the site software, which serve their own interests but cause problems for some people's browsers.Where do I find this: Chrome’s AppData folder. Eventually, I was forced to find a solution, and I found No-Script. I asked for this to be fixed, but it never was. I used to have the same problem as you, with Head-fi - it used to stall my browser every time I visited.

No-Script can be a bit of a pain, considering that it blocks everything by default, so you have to enable each component you actually want to run, on each & every website you visit, on the first time you visit.įor some people, that will be too much hassle, but I am now accustomed to it, and I love how much control it gives me - it actually teaches you how much the internet tries to track you, too, which is an eye-opener.įor example, you will quickly find that Google try to track *EVERY* thing you do on the internet.
